Roxy is having a day off today, so I’m going to tell everyone about a great book I read. I enjoy reading but never seem to have time anymore. So while we were on vacation, I read a book my mom loaned me. She gave me the book and told me I would love it. It’s “A dogs purpose” by W. Bruce Cameron I laughed, I cried, I loved it!! If you haven’t heard about this book, the basic story is about a dog that keeps getting reincarnated. Except he remembers everything he learned in the past lives. The lessons he learned, the people he knew, everything. This book touched me so much because for 14 years I had Lady, an Australian shepherd in my life. She was a great dog. Smart, great with my kids, wonderful companion. As she got older her hips were so painful and she developed diabetes. It was sad to see her go. In January, as you all know, we got Torrey. She is a mini Aussie, same temperament, and very smart too. After reading “A dogs purpose”, I like to think that she is Lady come back to me. Everyone should read this book. It was a fun insight into a dogs mind. I think the author nailed it when he describes what’s going through this dogs head throughout it’s lives. Very funny. I don’t want to give away to much of the story, read the book. Dogs are such a special part of our lives. Roxy and Torrey are well taken care of, that’s certain. Not overly pampered, but not chained in a yard or kept in a kennel all day. My heart breaks for the dogs I see in these conditions. I wish every dog or cat could have a wonderful loving home. Maybe someday.
