Artsy Fartsy Tuesday – A look back
Artsy Fartsy Tuesday – A look back
Artsy Fartsy Tuesday has been a very fun weekly feature here on the blog. I have had the pleasure of meeting many new artists, both in person, and through the internet. I have featured very well known artists, and some just starting out. I love being able to see for myself, and then share with everyone, all the different types of art that is out there. I can’t possibly narrow down the 94 different artists I have featured into any kind of favorite. I love them all, that’s why they were featured on the blog in the first place. Since I don’t have an artist to feature today, I went through some old posts and pulled a few photos of different work that I really like. (NOTE: If you are an artist, or know an artist, I am ALWAYS looking for people to feature. Contact me if you are interested.) JD Challenger is a painter I have admired for many years. Getting to know him as a friend, has been a great pleasure. He is an awesome painter, and a wonderful person. Tom Gilleon has been one of my favorite painters for many years. I was thrilled to meet him, and even more thrilled when he agreed to be featured.Mitch Baird is a great landscape artist, and a funny, humorous, very nice person. Michael Orwick is another wonderful landscape artist. We saw him standing in the bushes beside the river in Jackson Hole this past summer. Then of course we had to give him a hard time about it. Sarah Webber paints wonderful wildlife. We met in Great Falls last year at the Western Masters show. I have never met anyone with more energy and enthusiasm. She is kind and generous and I’m very glad we met. Many of you know Dawn Ross from her blog, Nature by Dawn. Her animal portraits are soft and inviting, and I am glad we are bloggy buddies. I love this primitive pottery that Kelly Magleby creates. She uses all the same old techniques used by Native Americans and produces pottery that looks like it came from a museum. And then there is my love of beauty in nature, and my attempts at capturing it through photography. Do you have a favorite among the 94 artists that have been featured here? I hope you everyone loves Artsy Fartsy Tuesday as much as I do. Because….“The Earth without art, is just eh.”
I like the tipees the best, they look great!
Tom does great work, I love his tipi paintings.
love that you are re-featuring these great artists! I have a question, how did Dawn get cody into that painting? lol
Hee hee, I have no idea.
Such incredible talent. I love these and can see why you decided to feature them.
I love the work of every artist I have featured, but these really stand out.
What beauty.
I have to cut my comment short because I’m surrounded by Greyhounds. There was a groundhog in the yard this morning and they can’t get it out of their minds. This will be the third turnout in the last half hour. This is the last sniff.
Oh no….I hope he decides it isn’t worth being in your yard.
So beautiful!
I agree.
I just love all this Arty stuff, some people are so talented :) Have a wonderful day xx00xx

His work is amazing! I love his use of colours!
Ooo! I love them all! But especially the tipis and the landscapes and the cat and the silver bowl. And your photograph. And … no, that’s enough.
I’m not an artist, but I am an artisan. My mother is a real artist. http://www.kareenramsey.com She creates with colored pencil, but also works in cloth and other mediums. I know she would love to be featured.
You are right, they are all so wonderful, how could you pick just one?
