Today is earth day. We love the earth, as I’m sure all of you do too. I am not going to go into how we should all conserve, recycle, and generally love the earth, because you guys now that already. Instead, I’m going to show you some beautiful pictures we took on our walk on Friday. Our favorite thing of all time is getting out into nature, walking, hiking, soaking up the goodness that is mother earth. We walked up our favorite local canyon, and were thrilled to see the first mountain flowers of the season.
These are glacier lilies. They are the first flowers to poke their heads up in the mountains, and like all wild flowers, they aren’t around for very long.
The very coolest thing about glacier lilies is they grow in big bunches. It’s a like a carpet of flowers.
And yes, that is snow on the ground.
We also saw some other signs of spring.
In our way of thinking, the very best way to celebrate earth day, is to get out and enjoy the beauty and splendor mother earth has to offer.
So get out there and celebrate!!
