This past Sunday we all went up the canyon and enjoyed a great hike. The weather is perfect for hiking, and the scenery is awesome. We had to cross a small stream several times.
Notice in this picture how Roxy was smart enough to cross on the little log bridge, while Torrey just plowed through the water.
Torrey got a new Outward Hound backpack from Kyjen a few days before this hike. I was thrilled to get the back pack so she can now carry her own water and treats.
The pack is the perfect size for her. I can put two 12 oz bottles of water in it, one on each side for balance. Plus treats, and a collapsible water bowl.
The pockets themselves detach form the harness part, so when we stop for a break I can quickly undo them with out taking the whole harness off.
The backpack is very well made, lightweight, and super easy to get on and off.
UPDATE Oct. 1 2014: I have been using this backpack for 2 years now, and absolutely love it. When we hike in the desert, or someplace where there is no water, I don’t have to worry about carrying water for the dogs. Torrey knows we are going someplace fun, when I get her pack out for her to put on. It’s been very durable, and I have had no problems with it at all. It’s definitely a must for our outdoor lifestyle.
Disclaimer: I was given the backpack in exchange for my honest review. I received no compensation for this review, other than the free back pack.
