An evening in the park
Tuesday we left the dogs home and went for an afternoon drive through Teton park. It’s a nice loop with several great turnouts, and you never know what you’re going to see. We had dinner at Signal Mountain lodge, and by then the sun was getting low on the mountains. When you are in the park, on the inner road, the Tetons are incredibly close. It’s such a different perspective than the far away view.
This is the top of the Grand with some little wispy clouds hanging on. We also had the cold snap here, and the clouds were finally going away by the evening.
This is the Grand from a different angle, and a little later in the evening. The sun was just going behind and it looked so awesome.
We didn’t see any animals though, except a few elk. This huge guy laid down just as I was ready to get his photo. Dang things anyway.
It was a nice evening drive. We wanted to do something fun before Al had to leave for Utah yesterday. He is making what will hopefully only be a few days trip down there. One of the stores in town is buying a few pieces of furniture that he made a long time ago. We need to get stuff out of that shop so we can get it sold, and these aren’t exactly yard sale items. This is the same store that bought a bunch of the photo prints on the rusty corrugated metal, and they want more. So he is making a bunch of those too. This is only the second time we have been apart in 9 years. Not our favorite thing.
Last night I was lucky to spot a moose along the river. He hung out eating his dinner for a while, and I got several good shots. He’s a big guy for sure.
I also spent a lot of time yesterday loading new photos in to my print store. A bunch of the horses, bison, Tetons, and some other random stuff.
So check that out at this link.
