Artsy Fartsy Tuesday
Artsy Fartsy Tuesday
The last couple of weeks for the photo challenges have been different, and well, challenging. I suppose that’s the whole point…right?!
The Dogwood challenge is the one that really gets me thinking the most though. It is an advanced challenge, so there is that.
Week 42 was music in an artistic way. I really thought hard about this one, then I out of the blue I realized we have the perfect thing to photograph. Al plays the Native American flute. These flutes are generally made by hand, by true artisans. This flute was made by a friend of ours, and gifted to Al last year. A true piece of art, that makes beautiful music.
Week 42 for the 2LilOwls was Endings. This milkweed was at the end of it’s cycle for the year, and I love the shape and texture.
Week 43 in the Dogwood challenge was movement that tells a story. Since we were visiting the horses this past week, the timing was perfect. This stallion was getting all his mares together, and moving them along. (He’s the one on the far left)
And week 42 for 2LilOwls is texture. This is a plant I have, it’s a type of succulent.
I’m quite proud of myself for sticking with this the whole year, only 9 more weeks to go.
Have you ever done any type of a challenge that you stuck with, and learned from?
Good morning Mary! I need a challenge lately for both my photography and poetry. It’s hard going alone; I usually just go on my instincts, but I really need classes to get into a community of writers and photographers that can offer some challenges I haven’t thought of yet on my own. Brilliant work, and that stallion, he’s got his hands full with those mares!!!!!!!
That flute is pretty amazing and perfect for the photo. We love photo challenges but the last two we entered the hosts petered out almost before they got started, so we are a bit frustrated with it at the moment. If we start, we are in for the long haul.
You should do a photo challenge yourself. I’ve thought about it, but it’s a lot to come up with on your own.
Hello, beautiful series. The horse photo is my favorite. Enjoy your day!
My challenge this past year has been my Vet Assistant course. Despite several interruptions – both self-inflicted and unexpected – I have stuck with it and am now finishing up. I’m in the process of putting together my essay test answers so I can enter them on the school website’s online testing center and get them submitted by the due date (next Monday).
I think that’s awesome, and good for you! All the hard work will pay off.
Love the flute – it’s beautiful! And so much more valuable because of it being a gift. Your other photos are beautiful, too!!
You always find the perfect photos for the subject matter! That flute is beautiful. I tried flute when I was a child, but didn’t stick with it. That makes me wish I did!
I always try to stick with things that I commit to now, and did accomplish the 52 week photo challenge one year.
You have done a lot of new things, and are doing a great job!
