Artsy Fartsy Tuesday 12/6/11-Donna Ridgway
Born into a family that homesteaded along the Rocky Mountain Front, near Dupuyer, Montana, Donna spent most of her life raising cattle. In the early 90’s she worked as an advertising sales rep for the Lake County Leader, the local newspaper.
Horses have always played a large part in her life, whether for work or for play. Donna was a member of the Mission Valley Back Country Horsemen for years. The MVBCH cleared forest service trails and worked to keep forests open for horseback riding.
Donna and her husband Robert are retired now, and live on a small acreage. They spend their time working on their place, and traveling to take photos for the paintings she creates. They also offer photographs for sale.
She’s an award winning artist, and participated in the Le Cadeau de Cheval mural project. Donna is a member of Worldwide Women Artists, International Equine Artistis, Front Range Art Association, Artist Peeps R Us, and Art for Critters where she donates a portion of her work to animal shelters and charities.
Donna’s paintings are so lively and colorful, I really like the dog portrait. And these landscape paintings, beautiful. Donna sells her photography prints at these two sites – http://redbubble.com/people/mohttp://www.etsy.com/shop/Natur
Thank you Mary!
