Artsy Fartsy Tuesday 4/19/11
For over 25 years we at Crow Beaver Traders have been dedicated to preserving the art and the beauty of our native Americans and the frontiersman of a culture long past. At CBT we strive to reproduce the artifacts and accoutrements of those brave and creative people, the frontiersmen, Indians and Mountain Men from the mid 1700’s to the 1840’s with affordable reproductions. In our way, we are preserving the heritage of those brave and courageous early Americans.
We strive to reproduce authentic products that would have been available at the nearest trading post, Indian village or the annual Rendezvous with the best possible raw materials. real leather, fine quality furs, glass beads. However when game laws prevent us from using real feathers of some birds we use the finest quality hand painted feathers. Every article in our store is made by us unless specified otherwise.
Our artifacts are thoroughly researched for authenticity, hand made by us only. All leather goods are hand cut from raw stock and hand sewn. We use no machines, no plastic, no acrylic, no tin when iron was used, no cotton when wool was used. We stay as close to authentic as possible in this day of plenty, to reproduce the days of less.
If you want to see all the great items they have, come to a mountain man rendezvous, or visit their website at www.crowbeavertraders.com
Wow Roxy,
You have some seriously talented friends and family! It’s great to see traditions being upheld. It must take a long time to make these pieces? Thanks for sharing and educating us.
Woofs from your pal Snoopy :)
Thanks Snoop, we have a blast at rendezvous and have met some of the best people.
