From his earliest memory Jeff had an insatiable appetite for creating and drawing pieces of the West. At age six he began molding little western figures out of clay with uncommon reality and had his first piece published in Western Horseman at the age of eight, a soap carving of a buffalo. In high school Jeff continually honed his talents while competing with his other love, rodeo. His senior year took him to the National Finals in Bull riding and at the age of 17 he left the ranch in pursuit of a full time professional rodeo career competing in the Bareback and Bull riding events for the next eight years.
Although he loved the life rodeo and of a buckaroo, Jeff decided to return to sculpting and entered his first National juried art show where he won best in sculpture and best of show. Since that time he has won the top honors at 23 of 27 national juried shows a as well as countless local and regional shows. The awards include, Best of show “Horses in Motion” Equine Show, Kentucky Derby Museum, Lexington, KY., Best of show George Phippen Memmorial, Prescott, AZ, Gold and silver Indian heritage award, Winnemucca, NV, Best of show Salt Lake Pro Am Rodeo Western Art Show, SLC, UT.
Other honors include 2000 featured artist for the Days of 47 Western Heritage Art Show, SLC, UT. He shares that honor with art legends such as Ed Fraughton, Arnold Freiburg, and Grant Speed. Jeff was selected to sculpt live at a benefit event held in conjunction with Super Bowl XXXIV. His work is also featured in four Museums including the Pro-Rodeo Hall of Fame, and is collected internationally.
Recognized as a teacher he also holds workshops throughout the west, many of his students have become recognized professionals. Wolf claims his greatest honor is that his works have raised over a quarter of a million dollars for the betterment of life through select charity events such as the Cystic Fibrosis Celebrity Ski Benefit, and Breast Cancer with the Susan G. Kommen Foundation just to list a few.
Jeff teaches sculpting classes twice a week and has 3 day workshops. Learning from this master of design and anatomy, will enable anyone to accomplish their artistic goals.
