Artsy Fartsy Tuesday-Dan McCabe
I connected with Dan McCabe through twitter, then had the good fortune to see his work at a gallery in Sedona. His art is so unique, new, and refreshing. Dan creates metal art pieces. Wall art, furniture, and great fun sculpture. I love the finishes he uses, the awesome shapes, and the all over feel of his art. Dan sent me some info about him and his work.
Dan McCabe was born in El Paso, Texas in 1964. At the age of 19, Dan was hired as an apprentice in one of the first fine art bronze foundries in Sedona, Arizona. For the next 20 years, Dan mastered all the facets of the lost wax casting and the precision fabrication needed to produce a bronze sculpture. Here Dan acquired the education, expertise and passion for metalworking.
Three fine art galleries represent Mr. McCabe’s bronze, steel and stainless steel functional sculptures. These are the Vue Gallery in Sedona, Arizona, Renee Taylor Gallery in Tubac, Arizona and Van Gogh’s Ear in Prescott, Arizona.
“As a young child with a profound hearing loss, my remaining senses were heightened. Seeing, smelling, and touching were my basis for reality. I always felt there was more to the world, a part hidden, a secret, a mystery. My work begs to be touched, explored and discovered. There is more than the eye can see.”Be sure to visit Dan’s website to see more of his wonderful work http://www.danmccabemetal.com/

Nice! I love all of it but that first piece is fabulous! Quite unique.
My gosh! I just love that first piece too!! What a talented guy!
Dan’s work is just beautiful. I am in awe of those that can work in so many different mediums.
I love metal art because I know it’s not something I’d ever be able to do myself. It seems so dangerous! But that’s part of the beauty. (That bowl is amazing.)
These are really cool! I love that first piece.
