Artsy Fartsy Tuesday revived
Artsy Fartsy Tuesday revived
With the start of a New year just days away, I have decided to revive Artsy Fartsy Tuesday. But now, instead of featuring different artists every week, I am going to show photos from three different photo challenges I am going to participate in this year. Plus, Al has been painting, so his work will be featured here too.
The first photo challenge is one from The daily post. It has been going on for a while, I have seen other bloggers posts, but now I am going to join the fun.
This weeks prompt was warmth. This photo is warmth to me not only because of the sunset, but the warmth and love I get from that wonderful dog you see. Torrey is so loving, so caring, and well, just warm.
You can see more posts about warmth, here.
The other photo challenge starts this week, and is also a weekly prompt.
Christina from The lazy pit bull came up with the idea for a weekly challenge that would go the whole year. Several of us bloggers gave suggestions for prompts, and she compiled everything into a nice challenge called, 52 snapshots of life. Anyone can join in, so feel free to come have fun with it. Posts can be on your blog, or on any social media channel. Just use the hashtags below. This is the list for the whole year.
As you can see, this weeks prompt is New. This is a little cactus, probably 4 inches high. It has these tiny new flower buds on it. So cute!
The other photo challenge I am going to do this year is something I found on Visual venturing a couple of months ago. Every Friday Stacy hosts After Before Friday. Basically you post a photo right out of the camera, and then show the same photo with any editing that was done. This one is going to start next Friday with all the participants editing the same photo. This should be fun too.
So that’s it, the rundown of what Artsy Fartsy Tuesday is going to look like this year. I hope to see you participating in some of these photo challenges too.
I love the first shot, I can almost feel the warmth! Pretty cactus..great shots! Have a happy day!
That first photo is a stunner! (I did find the watermark a bit distracting but still think it depicts warmth beautifully.)
Best to you.
Very exciting all you photos.
Good morning Mary! OK, this is what we do sometimes in our poetry group. We give a prompt either with a photo or a word, and it’s fun to see what each person comes up with. Your warmth display here is heavenly. I love that sunrise/sunset with your dog. The quality as well of your photos is beyond my understanding! Do you use a special lens? Lovely way to start my below zero day! Anita
I’m glad I brought some warmth into your chilly morning. As for the lens, I like to use a 50mm 1.8. Gives great color and depth.
That “warm” picture was such a gift as it’s snowing outside on a cold, gray day.
I’m really looking forward to seeing the challenge with the unedited and edited pictures. And I can’t wait to see what else you have to share with us on Artsy Fartsy Tuesday.
You are going to be so busy! Looking forward to seeing your beautiful photos. Love Doll
that’s beauiful, sometimes mother nature creates unbelievable things :o)
yes, love the warmth. :) and cute little cactus blooms!
photo fantastic! Its been so cold here that you have to keep blinking or your eyes will stick together when your outside. Its also been so windy that you have to be careful to put your trash barrels out right before the trash truck comes or your barrel will blow away. 60 MPH gusts, white outs and freezing. Welcome to paradise
Great photo challenge ideas. I was thinking about starting a new one here as soon as I finish the 100 happy days project.
Awesome! Love to see your photos for any reason!
Both photos are wonderful! The one of Torrey with the sunset is just amazing though. We’re going to try the 52 week challenge…I’m hoping it will get me to work harder on my photography skills.
Wonderful photos all around! I love the one of beautiful Torrey!
Lovely pics
Nice warm pics to see on a chilly night here, Mary!…:)JP
I love your “warmth” photo!!!! I also love your photo challenges. I’ve done Flickr 365’s for the past 2 years – and they’ve helped me learn a lot because I need to make a decent photo each day no matter what the weather, light, or surroundings. I’m trying to decide whether to do a 365 for 2015 – but I also love the weekly prompts you listed. Hmmm.
I hope that Roxy’s back is still feeling better.
Thats a good image – I may tag along on the weekly challenge!
Hope you have a good New Year and an even better 2015!
Cheers – Stewart M – Melbourne
That “New” photo is brilliant! Looking forward to checking out and perhaps joining in the fun of the #52Snapshots weekly challenge! *wags* – Gilligan from WagsAhoy.com
both shots are just beautiful. Found you via the #52 snapshot challenge. Can’t wait to see more. Happy New Year.
Love the cactus – they are about the only things our mum can grow!
Those all sound like so much fun! We are doing the 52 Snapshots of Life. I love the prompts and can’t wait to see your work!
Love those photos. That last hunt you describes sounds like the Friday Foto Frenzy on my blog where readers pick a number and I show that foto unedited.
I would love to say that warmed me up but it has been really, REALLY cold here. Those lovely desert photos did make me smile, though, so thank you and happy new year!
Adorable little cactus. I don’t know how you captured the texture so very well, I want to touch it and see if the little brown sprigs are springy.
I love both photos! You definitely captured the warmth and the cactus shot is wonderful.
