We found the coolest spot – Vedauwoo recreation site
We left Colorado, and started heading back to Jackson Hole. We had only been driving about two hours when we went past a great looking place. We were driving past a portion of the Medicine Bow Natl. forest. Junipers, aspens, and some fantastic rock formation. This looked like a great place to explore. We pulled off the highway and into the Vedauwoo recreation site. It’s nice to be back in Wyoming, lots of free boondocking, just what we like.
There was a small campground at the beginning of the dirt road, but we kept driving and found a boondocking spot.
The Arapaho called this place, “Land of the Earthborn spirit.” The more we looked at the rock formations, the more we could see why. Tuesday we went for a great hike and saw even more of the rocks.
Can you see the face?
Climbing around the rocks revealed some great stuff.
The squirrels were more curious than anything.
These pine cones were about the neatest color I have seen.
Mr. Raven was super talkative, and let me get pretty close to him.
The sunset was amazing. Can you see the sun shining through the holes in the rocks?
We were so glad we pulled off the road and stopped to explore, this is a magical and beautiful place.
That’s probably my favorite part of RV life, is the freedom to stay in different, interesting places. The ability to pull off the road and stay if we want.

Wow. Just wow. I am so much enjoying your photos, especially your 100 Days project :-)
That’s so beautiful! Was it a common raven? It looks very big to me (maybe just on the photo), more like an eagle :o)
Love seeing the raven and what a beautiful place. The best though …. OMD SQUIRRELS!!!!! Have a tremendous Thursday.
Best wishes Molly
Looks like a fantastic place to stay ans explore. Mr. Raven was giving you his blessing and maybe a message that good luck and fortune is in your future. Great pics! OX
just gorgeous and VERY cool!
Stunning! I so love Wyoming. And ravens! I am going to carry that happy quite with me to get through the rest of the day… I’m still SO jet lagged. Yet another reason why road trips are so much better!
It’s all airports for me, but I hope to road trip around the West some day! Beautiful shots!
Wow – what a beautiful spot! (Those crows! Always have an opinion about everything!) Thanks for taking us along for the visit!
incredible scenery! Your last photo and quote couldn’t be better. Just pinned it!
What a cool place thanks for sharing! Love Dolly
Wow what a stunning place. It always amazes me how the tiniest patches of soil between rocks will sprout such lush vegetation. And yet we still can’t get our lawn to grow well. ;)
The sunset behind the rocks is neat!…:)JP
Beautiful! Those squirrels must eat well too as they have nice little bellies!
That is a very cool place….what a great find!
How much more beautiful and awe-inspiring can you get?

What a wonderful place! It must be fun to live that way all the time, being able to follow your whims. I love the rock formations… and the sunset… and that amazing grass growing out of the rock.
