Cloud Museum-A Treasure of Old Rusty Things
Cloud Museum-A Treasure of Old Rusty Things
We love old stuff, any old stuff. But old cars, we REALLY love old cars.
Last week on our drive into Yuma we passed this funky little place on the side of the road. This road basically goes through lettuce, broccoli and onion fields. And a big date farm. So it’s not exactly on the main road to anywhere. The sign proudly announced it as the Cloud Museum, with “Probably the largest collection of Model T’s in the world.” We couldn’t stop then, but went back a few days later to check it out.
We payed our 5 bucks and were greeted by the very nice owner and his dogs. He told us to wander where we wanted, and let him know if we had questions. So off we went.
My first question was where on earth all these cars came from. He said he was a collector of stuff, and had been for a long time. He also told us there were 170 Model T cars and trucks there. So ya, probably the biggest collection in the world.
There are several buildings with various and assorted things in them. We found old typewriters, gas pumps, old bottles. All kinds of odds and ends.
One building had the “Nice” model T’s in it. These guys were restored, painted, and in great condition.
Among the Model T’s was a really nice old Packard with a great hood ornament.
I’m not sure what this was all about. This is a shot of one of the doors on an old car. It’s almost like it was an old race car or something.
I took some great close up shots of rusty doors, and other rusty bits that I can use as texture layers in photos. We had fun wandering around, and the owner even started one of the old cars for us. Had to turn the crank and everything.
I love when we find odd-ball places like this.
If I could just get my hands on an old truck as these, I’ve got some ideas….what a TREASURE TROVE, Mary!!!
That is one fun thing out west there in the area where you are. There are so many cool old things you can see and visit. Around here, there might be an abandoned farm or something, but that is it. Very cool place you found.
That place sounds awesome. I love seeing antique cars and other assorted old stuff.
Those old cars look awesome, and sounds like you had a great time wandering around and taking photos of the 170 Model T Fords and whatever else was there.
I love the angles of how you took the photos of these cars, and those bottles are so well captured.
Wow! What a cool place. Love your photos.
Hello, the rows of vintage rusty cars are amazing. What a collection, neat museum. Have a happy day!
That looks like kind of museum I’d love to look around at! And you can’t beat the price!
Your photos bring everything to life so exquisitely – as great as being there in person!
That was a very fun find! The place looks so well kept. I love how the Model T’s are lined up!!!! Great photos, Mary!
