(Extra)ordinary Salmon
(Extra)ordinary Salmon
The photo prompt this week from The Daily post is (Extra)ordinary.
We went for a little walk in the woods, you can’t NOT be in the woods around here, with Al’s two boys on Saturday. They wanted to show us a spot on the Cooper river where they swim in the summer months. There is a big deep spot in the river, and a small cliff next to it.
That’s me with the dogs.
The salmon are running in the river right now. This was something I have never seem before, salmon in a river.
It was pretty dang cool. And Extra-ordinary.
Kalib has a small video camera that is in a waterproof casing. He put it out in the river to video the salmon.
Here is a short cut from the video.
It’s amazing to see them in their natural habitat ( we only know salmons raised on farms)… I bet even Easy would skip his water-phobia when he could see this river :o)
Very cool video!
Haven’t seen salmon in a river for years – very cool video!
My husband were just talking today about how the salmon are probably running in a couple of river near here! Now I’m excited to go find out. ;)
I only see salmon in a bag as jerky for dogs. Pretty neat!
Wow, how exciting to watch them. These are great images, Mary! :)
I’ve never seen it before either. Your photos are awesome and the video is amazing! I’m guessing that was a little go pro video camera. Wow!!!!
Thanks for sharing something totally new to me!
I’ve never actually seen salmon swimming in a river in real life either, only on TV. What a treat for you to be there! Your pups are so well behaved – Daisy would have been jumping off the rock trying to catch the salmon.
What a pretty place and a neat sighting of the salmon. Great photos!
That is so cool! What a beautiful spot, and aren’t the salmon beautiful too? I’ve never actually seen them in a river either, and their color is gorgeous.
THAT is super cool. My little camera will go underwater but I’ve only popped it under once, in a pool…just for a few seconds. :-)
This is so cool, the photos are very beautiful and the video is amazing! Thanks for your article :)
