Fire in the sky
Fire in the sky
I don’t know what it is about Arizona, but the sunrise and sunset is like nothing I see anywhere else. Truly fire in the sky.
The sunset the other night was a great one, and I was prepared with my camera. Sometimes when we go walking in the evening I’ll leave my camera behind. Often times I miss being able to photograph the setting sun. This night, I could tell by the clouds that the recipe for a good sunset was happening. And I was prepared.
It’s a good thing Al is patient. He just waits for me to take all my photos, then we head back home.
Yesterday morning I looked out the window and saw the colors starting for a good sunrise. I climbed the little hill behind us, and watched it unfold, taking photos.
And this was pretty interesting, for me anyway. On my morning walk the other day I found this saguaro that had fallen over, and by the looks of it, recently. It was still green and pretty much intact. I was fascinated to see the top of it. It was covered with what looked like tiny white pom poms. They were so fluffy and soft looking.
It also had the very start of an arm, and it had the white pom poms too. This is certainly something you don’t see since these guys are so dang tall.
It seems like there is something new to find everyday. If you look anyway.
Wonderful colors!
Good morning, love the sky shots. The colors are stunning. Happy Friday, enjoy your weekend!
that reminds me of this song by deep purple… smoke on the water and fire in the sky :o) it’s beautiful :o)
AZ is definitely your place! Love the sunrise, it looks like red hot lava!
you nature photos are ALWAYS some of the BEST I have ever seen! Gorgeous!
I love all the photos. Somehow that fallen saguaro made me chuckle because I suddenly got an image of it seeing that breathtaking sunset…and it just fainted. ;)
Some extraordinary sunsets you have captured – with gorgeous colours! Beautiful.
Dear Mary! What amazing shots….I missed them this morning due to getting up at 4:00am and starting to work on a lesson for my first period class!!!!!!!
This is what I need right now, to ground me to where I love to be: near the earth and sky. Fabulous work.
The cactus is so cool, and I never get tired of the stunning colors of the sunrise and sunsets.
Discovering new things from all angles again!…Good girl…:)JP
I follow another person who winters in the Arizona Desert. She’s not a “photographer” but she gets the most amazing sunset photos. Truly breath-taking, like yours. I dream of the day when we have enough flexibility in our lives to get all the way down to AZ in the winter!!!! Maybe next winter!
Very cool cactus. I’ve never seen a Saguaro in person, much less a toppled one!
