From Clicking to Creating
This is going to be another short post. Hopefully after this week, things will slow down for us.
The dogwood prompt this week is Figure to ground. Thankfully, someone in the group posted this article, so I could figure out what that meant. After reading this, I realized that I take some photos using this idea already. This composition is not just for portraits, but wildlife, still life, all kinds of photography.
I would have liked to be a little more creative with this one, but this was about all I could get.
Think about your photos, are you doing this composition idea too?
For the 2 Lil Owls, the prompt is On top. I know I’ve had a ton of raven images lately, but here’s another one. This raven was sitting on top of a small building. He looked like he had exploded.
Actually, I’m pretty sure he was just a young bird, molting his baby feathers. I watched him fly, and he wasn’t having any problems.
Your turn. What have you created this week.
I think we use this too, but it is confusing to understand exactly what they mean even after reading that article. The butterfly on the flower is real pretty!
Hello, gorgeous capture of the butterfly. Love the Raven too. Great shots. Happy Tuesday, enjoy your day!
I love both photos, but I just didn’t have time to read that whole article! :) (which is why my photography skills aren’t improving, I just can’t find the time!!)
I have never heard the expression figure to ground, but when I read the article you linked to I realized I have always used the technique—without know what it was called. Both your photos use it and they both look great.
I had no idea of what figure to ground was! After reading the article it “clicked!”
It think it just happens intuitively.
