From Clicking to Creating – Week 17 Humorous Wildlife Photos
Humor in photography. We all love a funny photo, something that makes us smile or laugh. Capturing a humorous photo is this weeks Dogwood 52 challenge.
For me, as a wildlife photographer, humor is mostly unexpected. An animal pulls a funny face, or strikes a weird pose, and I just happen to be there to catch it.
My photo for this week was taken last time we visited the horses. These two stallions were goofing around, and it was honestly hard to narrow it down to one funny image.
“And then, the mare took off with that other guy, and there was hell to pay.”
This is the same two stallions. “Buddy, Just give me a ride”
“I can hear you, you don’t have to yell in my ear.”
“Just happy….Happy to be here.”
“I’m going to make the range great again.” (my apologies to this wonderful horse)
Horses aren’t the only ones that can be caught acting funny. Moose are pretty good subjects too.
“Ohhhhhh, What a beautiful moooooorning, Ohhhhhh what a beautiful day.”
“He’s behind me, isn’t he??!!”
“This is what I think of you, and your damn camera.”
If you have better captions for any of these, I would love to hear them.
The 2 Lil Owls this week is In the Distance. This shot of my nieces is perfect.
Ok guys. What have you created this week?
Funny photos, especially those that were not planned are the best! The first on looks like he is laughing at a joke. Love it!
I love all your captions! The one that really tickled my funny bone, though, is the “I’m going to make the range great again.” I don’t know what struck me as funnier, the caption or your apologies to the horse. I’m still laying here in bed, laughing quietly so I don’t wake anyone else. The other one that made me laugh was the moose “razzin” you.
Incredible captures, Mary! Love all these images, made me smile, :) :)
Thanks for the smiles this morning… such fun images!
OMG!!!!! I was unable to get to my computer yesterday but here I am, laughing my head off!!!!! YOU have captured some pretty darn cute and hilarious expressions on these horses and moose! Isn’t it fun to caption them? I follow this woman on IG who takes the most adorable photos of squirrels in her yard and I get such a kick out of captioning them…..and look at these guys! Those stallions do NOT mess around, huh!
Like always Mary, your stills bring me much joy!
I think your captions are perfect!
Oh my gosh I am laughing out loud at your photo and caption combinations. I think they are spot on. What fun to capture these wildlife candids! My submission for the In the Distance challenge is a little different. I took a photo of my favorite tree in my yard. (Shhh, don’t tell the others!) Just when the buds are starting to open, we get another snow. So it came to mind that Spring is “In the Distance”, haha. It will come eventually! https://photos.smugmug.com/2018-52-Week-Photography-Project/i-Bnxj8zg/0/d07a94f6/X3/SpringIsInTheDistance-X3.jpg
Your captions were perfect! I definitely could not improve on them. What fun shots!
Pingback:Mary’s From Clicking to Creating
I have followed your weekly theme for a while. Is it okay to have your own theme for the From Clicking to Creating?
Amy, it’s your photo journey and up to you what you shoot. For the weekly posts, I am following the photo prompts from the Dogwood 52 challenge, and the 2 Lil Owls 52 week. But that’s my choice. Thanks so much for sharing the posts every week, and I love the photos and posts you are creating.
Thank you for sharing your incredible photo experience, Mary! I have enjoyed so much of the from clicking and creating. :)
Those are all such funny photos. You got so many of the funny faces that the horses make! And the moose. “Oh what a beautiful morning” is my favorite — but I love the “he’s behind me, isn’t he?” facial expression too!!!!
