A fun evening at the sand dunes
We left our boondocking spot near Yuma on Saturday. But before we left, I wanted to take the dogs to the sand dunes for some good running around fun.
We were just down the road from the Imperial sand dunes in California. They are enormous. The dunes stretch for 40 miles, and some of them are incredibly high. The first Star Wars movie was filmed there. Like THE first, so you have to be old like me to remember that. I would love to have gone where the dunes were tall, because they would make fabulous photos. But, there are a lot of razors, and sand rails around. So not wanting to get ran over, we went on the edge where nobody was playing in the smaller dunes.
Torrey loves doing zoomies in the sand. She was up and down the dunes, it was so fun to watch her having a blast.
As the sun went down, the shadows around the dunes were so cool.
And the shadows made for interesting views of the dogs too.
I took a ton of photos, some of which are very awesome, I think anyway. The photo below is available for sale in my store under Deserts.
I couldn’t possibly fit all the photos in this post, so I uploaded them to my 500px account. You can see them there by clicking on the link.
It was a fun way to spend our last night there. And we were treated to an amazing sunset too.
I will tell you more about where we will be living for the next couple of weeks in my Wednesday post. Here is a hint, Why ask Why?
