A gray dayYesterday was a gray and chilly day, the coldest day we have had so far. I don’t mind the occasional gray day, the solitary person in me kinda likes a gray day. As long as nothing is falling from the sky. I really wanted to find something to photograph, so the dogs and I headed up my favorite local canyon in search of something, anything. I was hoping to see some of the Stellar Jays I keep seeing up there. But I think a memo went out for all birds to be in hiding.
But the sky was cool, and the canyon is always nice. All the leaves and colors are pretty much gone now, but the canyon walls are always colorful. And bonus, as I was scanning the trees for birds, I found this heart in a tree. I have walked past this tree hundreds of times and never noticed this. Proving, that it pays off to pay close attention. As I was walking back down the canyon, this Jay stopped for just a second so I could get a picture. He was pretty far away, and moving pretty fast, but they are so beautiful. Even for a gray day, it was a wonderful walk in the afternoon. I am taking part in the Our World Tuesday blog hop.
