Great Egret Yoga on the Salt River

We came back to the Salt River on Monday, and I’m so glad we did. It really is nice here. Green, wildlife, open spaces. Everything I like.

This morning I walked through the desert, and down to the river. I’ve been on the hunt for birds, or of course the wild horses. I saw a couple of cardinals yesterday, but couldn’t get a good photo. I’m hoping that changes. Anyway, I did get to watch a Great Egret doing a little yoga on the river, so that was awesome. It’s so nice these guys don’t fly away the second they see you, like the blue herons.

I sat patiently after spotting him, and pretty soon the yoga began.

Stretch….

Then there was a little fluffing.

Love the floofy feathers.

Then he decided it was time to go, and with a burst of feathers, he took off.
