It’s a good kind of busy
It’s been a good kind of busy around here since we arrived in Utah. April 5th was the rally with American Wild Horse Campaign in Salt Lake to save the Onaqui wild horses. There were probably 100 or so people that met at the BLM office with signs and banners. The local press covered the event, and then AWHC and the Salt river wild horse group met with BLM to convince them not to round up these horses, but to use birth control instead. They met for almost 2 hours, and we waited until they came out to tell us what happened. The dialogue was fairly positive they thought, and the BLM is willing to at least discuss compromise. So this is great news for these wild horses that I love so much.
But, the really busy part has been the art. I’m really pushing to get my new mixed media art pieces out in front of people, more so than just an outdoor show. Here in Utah county there is the Springville Museum of art. They have been around since 1903, and are fairly prestigious. Every year they have the Spring Salon show. They average between 1200-1500 applicants, and accept about 250 works of art. The show hangs in the museum from April 24th-July 6th. I submitted this 30″ x 42″ mixed media piece of The Messenger, and it was accepted.
Someday I am going to get great photos of this stuff, because this really doesn’t show it very well. Anyway, that’s been exciting and I’m thrilled to be a part of the show.
I also now have my work in a gallery in Park City. Lunds Fine Art is going to represent me, and I’m really excited about that. They are a beautiful gallery, and they were really excited to have my work. This is a couple of the pieces they will have.
So between the gallery taking so many pieces, getting ready for summer art shows, and just everything else that needs doing. We are busy! Which is good, hopefully all the busy will produce some good results.
I also started another website that’s just wild horse focused. Right now it’s just an information website, and I have written one blog post. I would like to find people who want to share their wild horse stories to include too. Check out Wild Mustangs Forever, and let me know what you think.
I try to post daily on both Instagram accounts, and the Facebook page. I have images of new pieces, and what’s being worked on. So those are great places to find out what’s new.
Until next time friends!
