Knights in Shining Armor
Knights in Shining Armor
Yesterday I showed you photos from the draft horse competition. That same day, there were knights in shining armor, jousting.
I was so excited to learn there would be jousting going on the same weekend as the draft horse competition. When Young Living lavender farm first opened, about 15 years ago, I took my boys to a jousting competition there. The guy that owns Young Living is pretty big into jousting, and hosted a competition. It was awesome, and my boys loved it. As you can imagine.
So I was ready for the jousting, and to get some good photos.
This young woman had my utmost admiration. Big gray shire, out playing with the big boys. She was awesome.
This is the dad of the young boy in the above photos. What a great hobby to get your young boy involved with.
And I love how him, and his horse are both laughing.
This is the light armor jousting. The lances are lighter weight, as is their armor. But still, such a thrill to watch.
They had a competition without lances, who could be accurate with a sword….on horseback.
Then it was time for the heavy armor jousting. Full armor, heavy lances.
So cool. We had a blast watching this event. They could do this every weekend, and I would go.
These are a couple of photos I edited with textures. This guy was about 15.
This image is available on Fine Art America.
What a fun local event, I hope they do this again while we are in Utah.
OMG.
YOU know how I feel about your photography, right? I love every thing you click in a wink, but I have to say that THESE, THESE ARE:
My favorites. Ever.
My goodness, that laughing horse….I want him. NOW.
The colors, the contrasts, Lightroom, correct? I am just barely discovering my contrast function on Photoshop, and it’s giving me more of the dramatic shadow that I love, but your post processing is exquisite.
But these horses. I love anything Medieval or Renaissance, and of course, anything equine.
Superb work, Mary. Swooooooooooooon!
What a cool event to see! It looks so real!
Amazing shots! I love the splinters you caught mid-air and the laughing horse.
What a great event. And you captured the great moments with precision and so lively. Beautiful. I really love the two last images, the composite ones.
This looks exactly like the jousts they have at Medieval Times. I’m always worried about accidents involving the horses during those things.
I’ve never been to see anything like that before. Love the filters on the last 2 photos!
Hello, wow amazing captures. They remind me of my visit to the Medieval Times show. Have a great day!
Fabulous shots of the event. And I love the title of your blog post too.
How fun for you to get to experience this!
My favorite photo is the Father and his horse and they are both laughing just like you pointed out!
I got back to AZ not too long ago but have had two different sets of guests and now a third set is coming this weekend.
I have not been able to post or read others’ posts!
Hope all is well!
