I do like Prescott, Arizona
I do like Prescott, Arizona
First, Happy Memorial Day. I hope everyone is having a great long weekend. And thanks to all who served in the military to keep our country free.
We left last Tuesday and spent two nights at our friends place in St. George, Utah. It was wonderful to spend time with them again, and the days went way too fast. We got to Prescott on Thursday evening and settled into the Point of rocks RV park. We have stayed here before, and like it because it’s close to town and we can walk out of the campground onto fun hiking trails. Sunset on the rocks is always so pretty.
Watson lake is close enough to walk to, and we went there on Friday morning.
The weekend crowds hadn’t shown up yet and the water was so still and beautiful.
I took the dogs back on Saturday morning for some more hiking around the lake, and there were a lot of kayaks out. This would be such a fun lake to kayak on.
We checked out a few antique shops in town, always fun, then waited to set up the show Friday evening. The art show is on the town square where the court house is, so we have to wait for everyone to leave before we can set up.
It’s a nice location with trees and grass. Saturday was very busy with people, and as I write this on Sunday morning, we are hoping for more of the same today and Monday.
I do love Prescott. Every time we come here we discover more about the area. I have always loved how dog friendly it is, and there is so much hiking right in and around town. The dogs and I are off for some exploring today. I’m sure we will find something awesome, so more on that later.
Have a great Monday.
Oh Mary, you take outside shots so well. That water is indeed so still and forever now, thanks to the click of your camera. Have a FABULOUS Memorial Day!
Hello, it is a pretty place. The lake view is lovely. I hope your art show did well. Happy Memorial Day, enjoy your new week ahead!
I can see why you like Prescott — it’s beautiful!
Hope the show went well — your booth looked gorgeous.
That’s one of the most unusual and beautiful lakes I’ve seen – the rock formations make it so unique and such a perfect photo op. I hope the show is going well for you and that the crowd is smart enough to buy some of your pieces!
My parents retired to Prescott and lived there for a long time. It’s a great little town. Love the hiking there! Fantastic pics of Watson Lake! Havne’t been there in a while – need to go back!
I love Prescott and we’ve even thought about making somewhere in the area our home base. Hope the rest of the show goes super well for you.
It’s on our radar as a place to build a studio.
What a beautiful place that is. Watson Lake is so different than the woodsy lakes we have around here…I would love to explore that with my kayak as well.
Prescott is undeniably a fabulous place! A dog friendly place as well.
But the artwork your husband does is amazing. Sorry I did not get up there to see you!
The rock photo is magnificent! I can only think that I would be outside exploring those places ALL. THE. TIME. :-)
