Living an Artists Life
Living an Artists Life
Good grief, if you don’t follow me on Instagram or Facebook you probably thought I dropped off the end of the world. I’ve been so busy living an artists life, the blog has certainly been pushed from the priority list. As you know, when we are in Utah it’s production mode time. As I said in my last post, between stuff for the gallery and getting inventory for the summer art show season, there is lots to do. And of course visits to the wild horses are a must.
We’ve been out to visit the horses a few times, which gives me more photos to edit, and more art to make. Lol. It’s a good cycle.
Plus, last weekend we had a volunteer event to help make it safer on the range for the horses. You can read all about that, on this post on Wild Mustangs Forever.
These are just a few of the images I have taken the past couple of months.
This was an insane day. I’ve never experienced wind, and dust like there was out there that day.
Always fun hangin’ with the herd.
And rainbows and horses, nothing wrong with that.
I’ve been adding a ton of new photos to my Mary Hone Photography site, and I’ve made it much easier to shop too by integrating it with my Fine Art America page. So check there for new images.
And, like I said we are in production mode. I’m so excited about the new mixed media pieces, and can’t wait to get them out in this summers shows.
I do wish I had a better way to photograph these, but, it is what it is.
None of these have the art resin on them yet, which REALLY makes them pop. It brings out the color and the texture so much. There are so many steps to creating this art, and getting them all together at this stage is always so exciting.
The mixed media pieces are only available at art shows, or Lunds Fine Art Gallery in Park City, Ut. But the images used in these pieces are available on my website.
We leave for Jackson Hole the end of this month sometime. Can’t wait for that. So, in case it takes me forever to write a blog post again, I hope everyone is having a great summer so far, and that you have fun things planned. See you soon!
I love how you live and model the artist’s life! thank you for the inspiration
and your work is stunning!
as always these are exquisite!!! I am awful about visiting Instagram, I need to get there but rarely do. I am not one that frequents facebook much either anymore and I don’t blog regularly anymore either!
Beautiful pieces, Mary!! I knew you hadn’t dropped off the face of the earth, but I have missed your blog posts. FB, Twitter, and Instagram just don’t get much of my time any more. Since Shadow got sick in February, I was devoting time to taking care of her – and trying to give Ducky time as well as hubby – so my online time got cut back and I’ve never really gotten back into it.
Your photography is spectacular…
I would love a Book made by you for our family room…!
Judging by those, you are going to have a successful summer art season! ♥
What amazing images, Mary! You really convey the power and the hearts of the wild horses. I’m glad that you’re having so much fun and success doing it!
We have been wondering if you quit blogging or what. Good to see you are still alive and working
