My memory is shot, but that’s OK sometimes
First, an update. Al took Silver to the Dodge dealership Monday morning. They tested it, decided we needed a new DEF injector, and to have the DEF system flushed. Thankfully they had the part. I had stayed at the RV with the dogs, so he just wandered around for a few hours till the truck was done. As soon as it was done, we hooked up and got the hell out of Butte. Without a doubt, that was one of the scariest, yuckiest, RV parks we have ever had to stay at. Al came back and said the Walmart parking lot would have been a better option, that’s saying something. We clearly had no choice this time, but we were sure glad we got to leave.
Silver, free and well again.
I had looked on Freecampsites.net a few days earlier to see what boondocking options we had between Butte, which will forever be Butt to me, and Bozeman, MT. There is really only one place, about 10 miles out of town. Too close really, but that’s all we had. We found a pretty good spot, and settled in.
Tuesday morning we decided that maybe we should go to Bozeman on Wednesday, instead of Thursday so we could have a whole day before the art show to look around the town. There are a lot of art galleries there, and we want to just check it all out. So Al called the RV park in Bozeman to see if we could come in a day early. The guy at the RV park said we weren’t supposed to be there until NEXT Thursday. A look at the calendar, and yep, we were a whole week ahead of ourselves.
Nothing like having a wonderful memory huh?! The good thing is we can boondock for another week. We’ve had some nice thunderstorms that have kept the weather cool, and there are lots of 4 wheeler trails to hike on.
Yesterday we did a short, uphill hike to a pretty cool area. Lots of granite here, so lots of neat granite formations. The dogs were pretty happy to be on a nice hike again too.
Torrey pretending to be a mountain lion.
A buzzard had to come check us out too.
“You have snacks, we like snacks.”
Thankfully my bad memory had us a week ahead, and not a week behind. Missing the art show would not have been good.
