Nice Day for a Hike
Nice Day for a Hike
It’s been pretty hot lately, so we decided that Sunday would be a good day to head for the mountains. It was a nice day for a hike with the dogs, and to get out in the wilds for a little bit.
Big Springs is a hike we have done a couple times, and I hiked this with my boys when they were younger. It’s a nice trail, and always so very green. Utah got a lot of snow in the mountains this year, and it shows.
Torrey was definitely glad to be out.
Roxy is pretty content in her pack. She did walk quite a bit on the return trip, and even tried to catch a squirrel. The squirrel was totally messing with the dogs. It stayed low on the tree and would run around the trunk to peek at the dogs. Cracked me up, and got them both riled up. Torrey was on leash and about pulled my arm out.
I took advantage of the great backdrop to get my shot for this weeks Dogwood 52. This week is technical, take a portrait at f/8 and keep the background simple.
I have the most beautiful dog model. I had a hard time deciding between all these shots, but like this first one the best.
After our hike we drove a little way down the canyon to a park. We sat beside the stream under a tree for a couple hours. It felt wonderful to be in the cool air, and the dogs were pretty happy too.
I was taking photos of Torrey, and Roxy let me know in no uncertain terms she needed her picture taken too.
Then she promptly ignored the camera. Silly little girl.
How can I possibly have too many pictures of these guys?
Hopefully these little outings to the mountains will tide me over until we leave later this month. Missing my Tetons really bad!
Super sweet furry faces! Mom says she can never have enough photos of us either.
Wow, the scenery is gorgeous. Looks like a great place for a hike. The dogs are so cute, great series of photos.
Have a happy day!
Torrey and Roxy are so sweet. They must enjoy the hiking a lot.
Thank you for sharing these lovely photos. :) <3
I wouldn’t be able to choose between those pictures, either! Such photogenic pups! The scenery is gorgeous, too–I can’t believe how much snow is still on the mountains!
Torrey and Roxy are the perfect models! And it definitely doesn’t look like they’re camera shy! :)
The colours in your scenery are exquisite!
Pups are the best models, and yours are just so beautiful. I really love how Torrey’s joy just beams from her.
Look like you and you family had a great hike up in the mountains.
I can never have enough pix of my girls either! I love these photos of Torrey and Roxie – they’re so sweet!! And the girls are beautiful! As Daisy said, their joy “just beams from” them! That last photo of of Torrey almost looks like she was howling. ?
What a beautiful hike, and you couldn’t have two more perfect models! Roxy just wanted to give you a profile shot for some variety. :)
