On the way to the top
On the way to the top
The photo prompt from The Daily post this week is, On the way.
When I took the dogs hiking up Rock Canyon the other day, I took some photos of these rock climbers. Several years ago I rock climbed with some friends of mine on a regular basis. My youngest son also got into it, and we had great fun together. We went to an indoor climbing gym however, so I have never climbed on a “real” rock. I do know how hard climbing is though, and these guys have my admiration. I of course didn’t have my telephoto with me, so these photos are not very great. They are cropped in, so kinda fuzzy.
Going up and over a ledge like this is very hard.
This is zoomed in even more.
I decided that I am definitely going to go back there with my telephoto and tripod.

WOW, this is a brave move, MARY! YIKES! Looks beautiful, though! Such a metaphor I see here….climbing to the top or simply getting along in life has its challenges and dangers. I must remember this as I go into work every day. HOWEVER, summer vacation is finally here and I’m THRILLED! Happy day! Anita
Wow… Must have been really very adventurous!
Sweet!…:)JP
awesome – and daring. :)
Wonderful scenery.
WOW WOW WOW!
I am always amazed when I see the rock climbers. They are so brave. Great captures. Enjoy your day!
OMD I’m dizzy just looking at those photos! All I can say is Wow. Those are amazing feats, conquering those rocky walls. And your photos are fantastic, even if they’re not with the telephoto!
Wowza. I tried rock-climbing ONCE. It was very cool, but I could never imagine climbing something like that! Cool pics!
Mom has a fear of heights, so it wouldn’t be a sport for her, but it is fascinating to watch!
I’ve always wanted to rock climb!
this is amazing, rock climbing is one of the most important outdoor sports and a proper instruction and proper backpacking. this will really help in rock climbing.
I like rock climbing myself, but not the walls in the gym. LOL Although I have never climbed a cliff/mountain like that. And definitely not anything needing ropes. :-)
