One of a kind photo frames
One of a kind photo frames
Well, we have a bunch of one of a kind photo frames done. I’ve been painting, Al’s been staining, and we have over 25 frames done. We still have a few more to go, but we have a great variety, and we are quite pleased with the way they turned out.
As always, we get an idea, we think it’s a great idea, then that idea doesn’t work out for some reason. But plan B worked fine this time, and it all turned out OK.
Al started by building each frame. We stuck to 8 x 10, and 11 x 14 prints. The frame pictured above was embellished with some wood decorative pieces. We decided which photos to print, what colors the frames would be, or if they would just be stained.
I painted with chalk paint. This allowed me to get a two color look to match the photos. I bought about 8 different colors, so I was able to get a fun color variety and really compliment the photos.
This old door knob photo simply had to have some old skeleton keys attached to it.
I love how this vintage looking frame compliments this vintage style photo of the Tetons.
We also did some that were stained, or glazed to match the more natural aspect of some of the photos. The rocks add a fun touch and hopefully people will like them.
We hope that the color, and the uniqueness of what we have done will attract the buyers at the shows. One thing we have seen at shows is that people want something that is different, and catches their eye. Are these eye catching enough? We shall see.
I have gathered up some vintage things, and some other assorted stuff to decorate the booth with too. I want people to have a fun and relaxed feeling when they hit our space.
What do you guys think? I am open to ideas, critiques, any thoughts you have.
These frames are absolutely STUNNING Mary!! I love each and every single one!!! You guys have really outdone yourselves with these gorgeous frames!!
Love them!!
Mary, Mary, Mary…..you add an unexpected dimension to your work that just makes me SMILE. I love how you took the frame to not only compliment the photo but to be a part of it, to meld right into it. If the first yellow frame and gorgeous yellow plant wasn’t enough to make me sigh, you brought on that BRILLIANT combo of the old doorknob photo with the little keys hanging outside of the image on the frame. There is a POEM THERE, I see it…it’s as if we have access to the keys but no real door to explore through, but rather a dream. BRILLIANT. Then the horses and goats with the rugged rocks to embellish. I really never thought of the frame being an extension of the art. I always just saw the frames are a separate entity, sometimes just being the opposite in color of the painting, taking away from imagery, but you did it again. You and Al have made a sensational piece of art. LOVE THAT DOORKNOB and KEY! Anita
We accomplished what we wanted then. We want the frames to be a part of the photo, an extension. Al originally had this idea for his paintings, but this worked out better. I love the door knob too.
The frames are awesome… My favorite are the last two. I love the horses. Well done!
Thanks. We think they hit the mark.
They look amazing! I love how you added the keys to the frame on the door knob photo!
That photo just had to have keys. It worked out good I think.
These are beautiful Mary! I love ALL of them! I am kind of partial to the one with rocks on the bottom, but all of them are so beautiful! They really from,e your art so well.
Thanks. The rocks seem to work as an extension to the photo.
I think you did a brilliant job! The frames compliment the photos without detracting from them. You are so creative!
Love, love, LOVE them! Are they all destined for a live show or will you sell any online? I would love to get my hands on one ;-)
Everything is always on sale. LOL. I’m not planning on listing them online, but I would certainly sell one if there was one you loved.
Those frames are so gorgeous – and unique!
AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ in your future
These are different and I predict saleable! How large are the photos?
really well done and very complimentary to the photographs!
yes, i think you are right, at shows people like something that they have not seen before and that they also like.
these are really fun and compliment your photos wonderfully. wishing you fun at the shows and that you sell each one!
Wow, those are so fantastic. You guys are so creative! Love how they match the photos, especially love the one with the keys! Amazing!!
LOVE the frames. Especially the ones with the rocks. Spectacular
Those photos and frames are gorgeous!
I think these will sell great because people will appreciate not having to look for frames. The picture and fre together become one piece of art, and all the has to do is sit back and enjoy.
Very interested and talented man!…:)JP
You guys are so talented. I love how the frames and photos compliment each other. I’ll repeat what others have said, “brilliant”.
I’ll be shocked if you report that you didn’t sell lots of these. They’re stunning! Very unique concept and you matched the frame styles and colors to the images so beautifully. They’re even more gorgeous than I imagined.
We love them and would buy each one! The door knob looks almost 3-D like its just popping out of the frame, maybe its the key. When I go to shows things like this catch my eye and if its price right would probably buy.
I Love, LOVE the doorknob! How creative!
Each is so unique, and so special for each photo…absolutely gorgeous and so eyecatching. I’ll be surprised if you don’t sell a ton of these!
I AM IN LOVE! These are fabulous, so fabulous. I’m thinking where I might be able to hang one…
How fantastic are these??? Mary, you never cease to surprise me! So much talent. Love them all :)
