Pure Enjoyment and a Sale
I took the dogs walking up my favorite local canyon the other day, and stopped to take photos of the beautiful stream. I was actually taking photos for the Dogwood 52 prompt, which is sparkle this week. But when I saw that the photo prompt for The Daily Post was pure, it fit perfectly too.
The stream is running high with all the spring runoff, and is just gorgeous. The water doesn’t get much purer than this. And cold…ya it’s cold.
And sparkly.
Pure, clean, and beautiful.
There are hundreds of swallowtail butterflies in the canyon this year. They follow the dogs and I, trying to land on the bright pink and red leashes. I wish so much I could get a photo of it. We found this one, she appeared to be a little bit hurt, but alive. Not knowing how to fix a broken butterfly, I quietly took her photo, and left her alone.
I shot this short video of the stream too. There is nothing like the sound of water.

Magnificent still shot of the sparkling water, fantastic video of life in liquid form, and that butterfly, WOW. You did it. You caught a fleeting moment perfectly. ENJOY YOUR DAY!
the first one must be a magic photo… I nearly can feel the water!!!
Magnificent! I can’t believe how fast the water is rushing!! Please be very careful. I don’t want you being swept away.
The butterfly and its colors are splendid.
Hello, I love the sound of the rushing water. Beautiful captures and a pretty butterfly. Happy Monday, enjoy your new week ahead!
This set of photos is just gorgeous! I love the sound of water too…and it really does look all sparkly!
Another lovely walk with great pictures and video to accompany – thank you for sharing!
Beautiful butterfly – how rare to have them following you like that! Year ago we had visited the Valley of the Butterflies on the island of Rhodes, before it became such a big tourist attraction. It was amazing to have hundreds of beautiful butterflies flitting all around us, it was one of my most memorable experiences on that trip.
What a perfect location you found. I love the purity of the stream; when I used to hike in areas like that, it always made me feel so happy to see “nature just being nature”, without human interference, and I’d spend entire days exploring. Those were my favorite places to be.
Love your video! Sounds delightful this morning.
It’s so wonderful to see such beautiful clean water out in nature! Great photo!
Beautiful spot! How cool that the butterflies try to land on the dogs’ bright leashes. Good luck with your sale!
this is so peaceful and delightful, love it!
What a beautiful place.
Oh my gosh, how I love the sound of the stream! Those are some great photos (as always!)
I agree, there is nothing so soothing as the sound of running water. It’s also amazing how loud it can be!
