Roxy and the monster mushroom

The first evening we were at unicorn ridge, Al went fishing, and I took the dogs for a nice evening walk. We were just ambling along when I saw this giant mushroom.

Roxy isn’t huge as a size comparison, but a mushroom that’s as big as ANY dog, is too big in my book.

What do you think?

Oh, I saw that photo when you shared on Facebook and I just couldn’t believe it was a REAL mushroom. But seeing the photo here, it is real and oh my! It is huge! I have never seen one grow so big before. Great find!

Wow, that is huge! I have this irrational fear of wild mushrooms because I don’t know enough about them to know if they might be poisonous. I love the ones in the grocery store produce section though, lol! :)

That is the second photo of a dog next to a huge puff mushroom that I’ve seen today. It must be all the rain this spring (was it rainy there)? Roxy could use it as a pillow.

That is a delicous Puffball fungi. I’ve picked them and eaten them all my life. The largest one that I picked weighed 25 lbs. They do

not freeze well. Pan fry when freshly picked for a true treat!
