There is a lot of new work going on everywhere right now. Dad is working on a neat little desk. It’s going to have juniper as the trim, and mom is going to be doing bead work on the back of the chair, and some small drawer fronts. This is the piece that we are taking to the Western Design Conference. Not a lot to take pictures of right now though, next week should be better. Mom is working on a couple of things for the gallery in Jackson Hole.
The dress on the top is in the very beginning stages. The bead work is just getting started and none of the fringe has been cut. This is a child size dress that will be displayed in a bigger shadowbox. The blue trade wool dress is almost finished. It only needs the elk teeth, really hand carved bone replicas, sewn on the front. This dress is like one that mom made a year ago, but never wanted to sell. This will go in a shadowbox for display too. The Turpin Gallery in Jackson Hole has sold two dress/shadowboxes in the last couple of months. So these are replacements. If you are ever in the Jackson Hole area, stop and say hello to Ronnie at the Turpin Gallery. He is the nicest guy. You can see the online gallery here. http://turpingallery.com/ Mom took a few pictures inside the gallery when we were there last.
People like these dolls too. Ronnie has sold a few of them. It was hard to get decent photos inside the gallery. The good camera was back at the trailer. All this work is great, but it means no traveling for a while. I guess we’ll have to settle for close hiking trips.
