So much color in the desert

It seems like all of sudden this week, the flowers are starting to bloom.

I first noticed it the other day when I went for a long walk down one of the bigger washes here. The brittle brush were everywhere, and such a beautiful yellow. They are always the first to start blooming.

The tiny ground flowers are starting to peek out too. All of a sudden the ground is covered with these tiny green plants, and some of them are starting to flower.

This one is so tiny, and so delicate and fuzzy.

The hedge hog cactus are thinking about blooming soon.

We had to go into Bouse yesterday so I could pick up the delivery of dog food. (Thanks Chewy.com) This house has these wild African daisy’s growing in their yard, and every year it’s a riot of color like this. I love it!

And we have been lucky with a great sunset the other night, and yesterday was a wonderful sunrise. I was excited for the sunrise because we haven’t a really good one for a few weeks.

  2. So nice to see flowers still in the world somewhere! (Hard to believe that under the 6 feet of snow in my yard, there beauty is waiting to explode…in months.)

  5. With so much moisture the desert received, it should be a wonderful showing of blooms that will have me out on the trails with my camera. Looks like you’ve already discovered some beauties.

  12. I love the colors of nature. Particularly the sunrise and sunset. Sometimes I’ll think….who would have thought to add orange and pink together? And then I look at a sunset.
