Super Blue Blood Moon
Super Blue Blood Moon
As everyone knows, there was a Super Blue Blood Moon this morning. I’m so glad we are in the desert, and the chance of cloud cover was not as high. I was a little worried last night when it was partly cloudy though.
I set my alarm for 5am so I had time to get up, and walk to the spot I had planned to be at for the eclipse. It wasn’t far, and walking in the quite desert in full moon light is wonderful. I took this photo right after I got up and let the dogs out.
(sorry, but wordpress has really beat up the quality of these images)
I’m going to add photos in order of how the eclipse happened.
Full eclipse at 6:30.
The sky started to lighten, and the full eclipse began to end. This was around 7am.
This was shortly before the moon went down.
I wanted to be able to get something in the moon shots, other than just moon.
It was very fun to watch, and experience. Even though I had to get up early, and was about froze when I got back home.
Tonight’s moon promises to be beautiful when it comes up, I’m looking forward to getting photos of that too.
Super shots, wow!!!
Nice captures! Love the cactus in your shots!
Mom and my sisters saw part of the eclipse on their morning walk, but then she forgot all about it and shoveled the driveway for a while. When I went out with her it was all over and the sun was coming up. At least we had no plans to photograph it.
Absolutely beautiful! Since we missed it here in the Berkshires due to cloud cover, I thank you ! Your photos are fantastic.
I was thrilled to be able to see this as I was driving west this morning to work. Yesterday, I saw the full, bright moon veiled in the morning. It was spectacular! Mary, your photos capture the essence of wonder that the moon holds.
Way to go, Mary! Super nice. I love the one with the cactus the best of all. It turned out to be very cloudy here… We didn’t even get a glimpse of the moon. So, I’ll enjoy your fabulous photos!
We did not get to see it here, other than the super moon when it rose last night (which was very pretty since it rose amongst thin clouds), so I’m so glad you shared it here!
Beautiful photos, Mary! I’m so jealous ;-) It started here around 4:30 in the morning. I woke up around 3:30 (way too early for me), and saw thick clouds up in the sky! Later, the local weatherman said it was too bad that clouds moved away too late so we weren’t able to see the moon. Oh well… I love your photos. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, wonderful captures of the Blue Moon and eclipse. We missed the eclipse here. The cactus shots are beautiful and I like the full moon at 7am the colors were pretty.
Enjoy your day!
These are beautiful Mary.
I had just read some disturbing news reports when I clicked on your link. I feel better now. More calm. Centered.
Thank you. <3
