I do like Prescott, Arizona

Tales from the Backroad Posted on May 30, 2016 by Mary HoneMay 29, 2016

I do like Prescott, Arizona

First, Happy Memorial Day. I hope everyone is having a great long weekend. And thanks to all who served in the military to keep our country free.

We left last Tuesday and spent two nights at our friends place in St. George, Utah. It was wonderful to spend time with them again, and the days went way too fast. We got to Prescott on Thursday evening and settled into the Point of rocks RV park. We have stayed here before, and like it because it’s close to town and we can walk out of the campground onto fun hiking trails. Sunset on the rocks is always so pretty.

Watson lake is close enough to walk to, and we went there on Friday morning.

Happy, Happy

Tales from the Backroad Posted on May 24, 2016 by Mary HoneMay 23, 2016

Happy, Happy

The Daily Post photo prompt this week is Jubilant.

Today we leave for Prescott, Az. for our first art show of the summer. Al is showing his sculptures at the Phippen Museum Western art show in the town square of Prescott. I looooove Prescott, and I am thrilled to be on the road, even if it’s just till next week. We will stop in St. George for 2 nights to spend time with our wonderful friends, and I am really looking forward to that.

Al is happy because he did these two wonderful paintings to take to the show. He wasn’t very happy with his painting last year, but he is quite thrilled with the way these turned out. And rightfully so, I would say.

This one is 36″ x 36″.

Sioux Falls Sculpture Walk

Sioux Falls Sculpture Walk

Once we got settled in the RV park in Sioux Falls,  we decided we better go explore a little. Saturday was forecast for a lot of rain, and we also had the installation in the morning. We wanted to see the falls, and Falls Park was beautiful. The falls were bigger than I expected, and there were the remains of an old mill there too.
