Yesterday was a gray and chilly day, the coldest day we have had so far. I don’t mind the occasional gray day, the solitary person in me kinda likes a gray day. As long as nothing is falling from the sky. I really wanted to find something to photograph, so the dogs and I headed up my favorite local canyon in search of something, anything. I was hoping to see some of the Stellar Jays I keep seeing up there. But I think a memo went out for all birds to be in hiding.
I’m not much for paying attention to the news, but I do pay attention to the weather. When you live in an RV, cold weather is something to be prepared for. But I also like to soak up the warm days while we have them. This time of year in Utah, can bring about any kind of weather. We have been super lucky and have really had a beautiful warm fall so far. All that is supposed to change this week, so I have been making sure I get outside and enjoy it.
Friday, I took the dogs for a nice walk up our favorite local canyon. The trees up there change in stages, which is actually very cool. The maples are about done, and the oak are just getting yellow. This maple however, couldn’t decide if it was summer or fall.
(I also posted this photo in my photo gallery for purchase)

So we decided to just drive up the canyon and see if we could find a safe spot to walk. We got to a small campground where there is a stream, so we stopped there. I was super lucky enough to get a new DSLR this week, and I have been wanting to try it out. The leaves are all over the ground now, the sun was low, and the colors were perfect.
