A Gift from Raven

Tales from the Backroad Posted on July 26, 2018 by Mary HoneJuly 22, 2018

A Gift from Raven

The other day I was up, and walking on the river early in the morning. It’s my favorite way to start the day. Early morning sunrise, quite, and the sound of the river. Usually I get to see wildlife of some kind, and on that day it was Ravens. They are always a favorite, and on this day I received a gift from raven.

I came across about 6 birds in the trees. This one was very talkative.

He also stretched so nice for me. I love to see all their feathers like this.

A Variety of Birds, and a Couple of Moose

Tales from the Backroad Posted on July 20, 2018 by Mary HoneJuly 20, 2018

A Variety of Birds, and a Couple of Moose

The past week has just flown by. We were only going to stay here for a few days, but here it is the end of the week and we still haven’t gone anywhere. I love being able to have jello plans, rather than rushing from one spot to the next.

We’ve been searching for wildlife early mornings, and late evenings and have been semi successful. There has been a Variety of Birds, and a Couple of Moose, which is always nice. These two nice bull moose have made appearances down the road, one bull is pretty impressive already and they still have lots of growing to do. I can’t wait to see what he looks like in the fall.

Cute and Funny Baby Gophers

Tales from the Backroad Posted on July 12, 2018 by Mary HoneJuly 11, 2018

Cute and Funny Baby Gophers

I was walking the other day, when I spotted these cute and funny baby gophers playing and wrestling with each other. Why are baby animals so dang funny?

This is a series of shots that happened so fast, but really tell a story. The one on the left seems to be saying, “I’m going to get you!”

“No, No, don’t get me.”
