We came back to our spot outside Quartzsite last Wednesday. We were pretty much done seeing whatever there was to see around Yuma, and it was getting pretty warm there. It’s 1000 feet higher here, so a little bit cooler. And WAY prettier.
Mom had heard about this fun and funky bar that is out in the middle of the desert near here. The Desert Bar is about 7 or 8 miles down a dirt road outside Parker, AZ. We found out it was dog friendly, so we decided to go. There was lots of people there, and of course everyone wanted to say hello to Torrey and I.
The bar is only open on Saturday’s and Sunday’s from 12 – 6pm and October through April. Pretty good hours huh? There were tons of people there since they have such limited days and hours. The day was pretty warm, in the mid 80’s, so we were staying in the shade.
And we had our thirsty milo, which we shared with a black lab who was thirsty too.
As you can see, the main area is just a big pit dig into the ground. Then there is a hodge podge of buildings around that. We spent most of our time on the upper deck so we could look down.
There is a stage area, and there was a band playing when we were there. I think they have music most all the time.
There were some old cars and a fire truck.
And this interesting building. More of a facade really, and made completely of steel.
Mom and dad probably had more fun than we did. It was kinda hot and crowded for us. Torrey did really good though, with the noise and other dogs. We only stayed an hour or so, but it made for an interesting day.
