The Desert Bar – Parker, AZ.
The Desert Bar, Parker, AZ. Dog friendly and fun
We came back to our spot outside Quartzsite last Wednesday. We were pretty much done seeing whatever there was to see around Yuma, and it was getting pretty warm there. It’s 1000 feet higher here, so a little bit cooler. And WAY prettier. Mom had heard about this fun and funky bar that is out in the middle of the desert near here. The Desert Bar is about 7 or 8 miles down a dirt road outside Parker, AZ. We found out it was dog friendly, so we decided to go. There was lots of people there, and of course everyone wanted to say hello to Torrey and I.
The bar is only open on Saturday’s and Sunday’s from 12 – 6pm and October through April. Pretty good hours huh? There were tons of people there since they have such limited days and hours. The day was pretty warm, in the mid 80’s, so we were staying in the shade.
And we had our thirsty milo, which we shared with a black lab who was thirsty too.
As you can see, the main area is just a big pit dig into the ground. Then there is a hodge podge of buildings around that. We spent most of our time on the upper deck so we could look down.
There is a stage area, and there was a band playing when we were there. I think they have music most all the time.
There were some old cars and a fire truck.
And this interesting building. More of a facade really, and made completely of steel.
Mom and dad probably had more fun than we did. It was kinda hot and crowded for us. Torrey did really good though, with the noise and other dogs. We only stayed an hour or so, but it made for an interesting day.
What about you, did you have an interesting weekend too? Join the Monday mischief blog hop today.

That looks like tons of fun! Of course, everyone wanted to say HI to both of you — you are stars! And what a great photo of your mom having fun with you both! xox Toots
That looked like a great place to explore and loved the old trucks. Quite a crowd there. We had a uneventful weekend. Have a marvellous Monday.
Best wishes Molly
What an odd place!
Mid-eighties sounds pretty darn good about now. I am waiting for the sun to get above the horizon and warm things up just a tad for our morning walk…..
What an exciting place and cosy too.
looks like so much fun! I’ll have a Bacon Beer please! Barks and licks and love, Dakota
We didn’t think to ask for one of those…darn!
well looks like an interesting spot you were at. I’m sure you guys were a hit with everyone. Your Mom looks really great and I loved the old tractor picture. What did we do? Relaxed and watched TV , cleaned out craft cupboards and went to the store. It was windy, cold and rainy. When will you be back in Utah?
Wow! How cool is that?! You know, that place reminds me of the “desert bar” in that vampire movie “From Dusk til Dawn” with George Clooney. Do you know that one? Were there any vampires there? BOL You get to go to the best places, Roxy.

Hmmm, never heard of that movie. But, no vampires there. Maybe at might. BOL
What an interesting place! It’s so much fun to explore new areas. :)
That place looks awesome! A dog friendly bar combines two great things, if you ask me.
Omigoodness! That looks like so much fun!
Wow, that’s great that Torrey well at such a busy place. I don’t think Rita would. (Sigh.)
We had a boring weekend. I was sick. Still am. No fun. :(
Cool spot! We heard that AZ is having warmer temps than normal…it sure appears to be the case!
That has to be one of the most interesting/strangest places I have ever seen! Love Dolly
It looks like a pretty spot to have some fun and I bet it was nice going along with Mom and Dad as opposed to staying home.
Wow guys, what an awesome pawty! That’s pretty hot weather too. Ours is close to the same right now. Very nice outside.
That looks like a cool place to visit. There’s a dog-friendly cafe here that we like plus they have a heater during the winter!
I cannot, in my wildest dreams, imagine being someplace where it’s too warm right now!!! You two are lucky!
We LOVE your interesting weekend! We had one, too, but ours involved frozen waterfalls and hiking in the snow. We wouldn’t mind a little of your warm weather for a change. I’d love to do some dining al fresco!

Very cool!

What a fun and interesting place. Very smart for doggies to stay in the shade and glad you got to visit some of the other patrons. :)
That looks like a lot of fun! Maya would have loved it. There is a bar here in town that has pet-friendly Wednesdays. They’re not doing it now because of the winter weather here, but they will start up again in spring.
Wow! That is huge and looks like a ton of fun! I’m hoping to visiting some fun outdoor places this summer with the boys!
What a cool looking place right in the middle of the desert!
And it’s super cool they allow doggies to join in the fun too!
I hope you’re having a fun day,
Your pal Snoopy :)
