Whew….we made it back from one of the very best mountain man rendezvous’ we ever went to. It was in a beautiful place with lots of trees and flowers. The weather was awesome, and so were the people. There were 400 camps, which is huge! Pacific primitive rendezvous is the regional 10 day all primitive rendezvous for the pacific northwest, California, Idaho, and even BC, Canada. An all primitive rendezvous means it is strictly for buck skinners only, no tourists or flat landers. Most of the people were new to us, but that was one thing that made it that much more fun. In the 400 camps, there were lots of dogs. Big ones, little ones, and all that we met, nice ones.
We got there early before anything was going on, so that meant hiking! The woods are so beautiful there.
We loved running around and had a great time. Mom took some awesome pictures of flowers, check them out today on Desert Raven Art.
Once everything started, Torrey and I stayed in the trailer when we had to….they were shooting….or we got to go and say hi to everyone. Check out these dogs. Can you see the heart in this dalmation? This nice man had this dalmation, and another dog that he rescued from a puppy mill. That was a sad story, but the dog is doing awesome now.
Here are a couple of dogs that were visiting traders row.
And some horses were there too. They had this great grassy field to hang out in after they got there.
Here are a few pictures of camp. Like I said, it was huge.
At the closing ceremonies it started to rain a little. Dad put me in his capote so I could stay dry.
Then it stopped, and a rainbow came out. What a perfect ending to a perfect time.
We are trying to get back in the swing of blogging and living in the world again. For 10 days we didn’t have phone or internet. Truthfully….mom loved it! Right now we are in Pendleton, Oregon and it’s nice too. Today we will leave here and go to a small town called Joseph. Dad heard somewhere that it was a nice little art community so we are going to visit and see for ourselves. We are loving Oregon, it is so beautiful here. Everywhere we have been has been amazing. So more pictures, of more adventures coming soon.
It’s all about the fun!!
How wonderful, no phone or internet, just peace and fun. Amazing photo’s.Have a wonderful day xx00xx
It was lots of peace and fun.
We lost power, phone and internet this last week for 36 hours. I missed the air conditioning, but otherwise… it was heaven! Sounds like you had a fabulous time. Looking forward to more about Oregon!
Ya, no AC would be a toughy.
Mom says you can take the phone away any time but don’t take her internet! We checked by your blog a couple times to see if we missed anything but figured you didn’t have internet. Glad you had a wonderful time and welcome back!
At first mom was kinda nervous about no internet. That lasted about a day. LOL
Glad to see a post from you guys. We’ve experienced that it is “amazing” … just for a couple of days. Nowadays its hard not to have a phone. Looks like you guys had a Pawsome time. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
We missed you and are glad you are back!!!!! It appears that you had a wonderful time and YES I did see the “heart” on the Dalmatian! That is too cool!
Awww. it’s good to b missed.
Wow no phone or internet…..bet it was great. We see you had a great time and welcome back. Have a marvellous Monday.
Best wishes Molly
It was great. And a great day to you too.
sounds awesome to me. My son was there when you were.. You just crossed paths. he was at Pentelton. He was in Wa. before that. He had to buy a flannel shirt in a second hand store to keep warm.
Sounds like a wonderful trip – reminds me a little of the Rainbow Gatherings. I did check out Desert Raven Art and the photos are very beautiful.
We are afraid our human would curl up in a ball with no phone or internet. But it sounds like doggie heaven.
BOL..it was doggie heaven.
Glad you had a great time, Roxy! What a great adventure! :)
What a wonderful way to spend summer. Outside all the time and lots of dogs. What could be better.
Ya, not much could be better than this.
Welcome back, Roxy! Dawg, I have missed you but it seems you were having a BLAST at rendezvous!! What a beautiful place…no wonder so many turned out for it!

Thanks Oz, it’s good to be missed, and good to be back. And we did have a blast.
That looks like so much fun. You people got some beautiful pictures.
It was a lot of fun, and mom likes to take pictures. So sometime they come out OK.
Have to admit that no phone or internet sounds great to Momz too…It would be nice to take a complete break like that, though I’d miss all my furriends…But with so much to see and do at the Rendezvous and so many dogs to sniff I’d never get tired…Hope you post more photos soon
It was so nice to be unplugged, no stress, no deadlines…all fun.
Roxy – we’ve missed you so! Glad your home safe & sound. Sounds and looks like you had a great time!
Awwww, thanks for missing us. We had a great time.
Ten days! It looks like y’all had a BLAST! I’m partly jealous of your life, but I don’t know if I could go ten days without AC.
It’s so cool here, no AC needed. We had to wear capotes a few days.
It looks like you had an awesome time! One of these days when I have the time… :)
The motto here is, do it now while you’re young and still can.
That looks fabulous. Love the pic of Roxy in the capote!
I think the first internet-free day would be tough for me (withdrawals!) but after that it would be wonderful to have such a break. I heard about this study some researchers tried to do w/ college kids worldwide – the kids had to sign up to be w/out their phone for 24 hours. Something like 70+% of them couldn’t make it the full 24 hours! (I’m not THAT addicted though… esp’y since I don’t have a smart phone. But I do love my iPad…)
That’s kinda how it went for me. When I realized there would be no service in our area, I was a little panicked. I quickly got over it though, and had a great unplugged time.
You certainly live an interesting life!
Awwww Roxy! You looked so sweet and warm in that blanket! That is some beautiful wilderness, you guys lookes like you had quite the adventure!!!
Good to see you!

Welcome back guys! It sounds and looks like such an amazing time!
Wow Roxy, looks like you all had a great adventure!
What an incredible experience! Thank you so much for sharing it with us.

Words can’t express how excited these pictures make me. I can feel the “wonderfulness.” Can’t wait to hear more about your Oregon adventures.
Sounds like my idea of heaven – no phones, and lots of dogs milling about! :) Welcome back, it sounds like you had a wonderful break! (PS Love the photos)
Looks like you had an amazing time!
What a lovely moment with the rainbow. Very neat the horses came along too!
Gad you had fun and like the pictures. It begs the question though…at a “primitive” rendezvous you are allowed to walk around with a digital camera? Ha, ha.
Welcome back!! I’m glad you had such a great time, it sure looks like fun. Did you guys pitch a tent for sleeping too?
Yay you’re back! So glad you had so much fun! We missed you though :)
The dalmation with the heart on his side is so cute! :)
Hope you’re having a fun day,
Your pal Snoopy :)
It looks like a wonderful time!! The pictures are awesome!! Love the dalmation heart! xoxo Chloe and LadyBug
Welcome back! We thought of you when we were driving through Eastern Oregon- an RV passed us that had a bunch of wood poles on top. It was pretty obviously enough for a nice teepee and I wondered if they had been in Pendleton with you. Glad you had a nice time!
I sometimes think I just couldn’t disconnect from all my media. But I bet if I did, it would be a great thing. It looks like you had such a wonderful time! I love the rainbow and all the other dogs you got to meet. Happy that you and Torrey got to do some hiking too. Glad to have you back though!
Sounds so beautiful and so fun!
This is so very cool! I would love to do something like this. And you could bring the dogs too? And there were horses? I am so excited for you!
