Where the Bison, and the Antelope Play
Where the Bison, and the Antelope Play
I know that’s not really how the song goes, but it makes more sense for this area. Lol. Yes, we are back in the Jackson area at Teton park. These past two weeks have been a whirlwind for us. The Bozeman show was good. We really like that town, and the show is a lot of fun. We left there on the Monday, drove all the way here and got ready for our show in Teton Village. It was sooooo hot this past weekend, which is super unusual around here, but the show was good for all the vendors. So that makes it all good. That was our third and final show as promoters for the year, and we are looking ahead to next year.
We are now in our favorite spot, enjoying some quite, and the river nearby. The bison are back in the area, and yesterday morning we went to get some photos. They are in the rut, which is my very favorite time with them. The big bulls are so powerful.
This big guy had just tussled with a sagebrush. The girls love that added touch.
This one was just content to sleep in the sun. He didn’t move the whole time we were watching.
There are always antelope in the area, and now the babies are bigger, and more visible. This little one had the fluffiest butt. Did you know when pronghorn are startled, the hairs on their butts stand up like this? He wasn’t startled by any means, but his hair was permanently fluffy.
The grass is waaayyyy deep. I love this little peeking shot.
A couple of bucks. Pretty soon their rut will start, and the smaller guy will be ran off.
I’m looking forward to getting better bison photos in the next few days. I’m especially glad we can take a breather for a little while too.
Oh how I loved the sage in his fur! (Yes… I’m a girl!) Lol!
The peeking antelope or was it a pronghorn… I enjoyed!
Get some needed rest! Enjoy!
Hello, awesome captures of the bison and antelope. I love the sweet looking antelope, cute shot of the deep grass antelope! Have a happy day!
Cute photos! We saw 4 deer yesterday morning just walking down the sidewalk in a neighborhood. At first Mom thought it was a bunch of loose dogs! Wildlife no matter where it is, is truly a site!
I love the photo of the antelope, cool to see all the different coloring! We were just in the Jackson area, live it there! Where were/are you camping? We were off of FR30310 30 min north of Jackson.
Yay for some down time! We look forward to more enjoyable photos of both of these fascinating species. The peeking shot is my favorite!
Great shots Mary. What lense were you using?
